Christmas Song (O Holy Night)

I'll be honest, when I put this piano roll in, I thought I was going to be playing the "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" Christmas song, but surprise - it's O Holy Night! This piano roll has seen some things - you can tell because it's all torn up on the left-hand side, which makes it a bit fragile and more difficult to play. It probably was used at many festive holiday parties! But it still has some life in it and plays pretty well, all things considered. If you look closely, you may see some golden retriever ears in this video, attempting to join in the fun. This song also really showcases the few wonky notes on this player piano that can't be tuned, so consider yourself warned that some of the arpeggios are... unique! 😆

Lyrics:

O holy night
the stars are brightly shining
it is the night
of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world
in sin and error pining
till He appeared
and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope
the weary world rejoices
for yonder breaks
a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine
O night
O night divine
